Credentials That Improve Civilian Marketability
ASTM NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) can validate avionics and electronics knowledge for UAS, aerospace, MRO, and defense roles. It is strongest when paired with direct RF, wiring, test-set, flight-control, and payload-interface evidence.
FAA Aviation Mechanic Certificate can open regulated aircraft-maintenance paths when the FAA accepts documented experience and the candidate passes the required tests. UAS work may not cover every task needed for both ratings, so eligibility must be evaluated individually.
ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) can strengthen inspection, configuration, calibration, trend-analysis, and corrective-action credibility. It is best for 15Ms with real quality evidence and does not grant FAA inspection or engineering authority.
