Credentials That Improve Civilian Marketability
FAA Aviation Mechanic Certificate is the main authority bridge for certificated aircraft maintenance. The FAA evaluates documentary evidence and determines eligibility. UAS maintenance can be relevant, but it does not automatically satisfy both Airframe and Powerplant experience requirements.
ASTM NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) can validate aircraft-electronics knowledge for 15Es with avionics, communications, navigation, payload-interface, or ground-control depth. Add an endorsement only when the member's work and target job support it.
ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) fits members with documented inspections, measurements, nonconformance, calibration, data, and corrective-action work. It is not an entry credential for repairers who did not perform paid quality duties within ASQ's experience rules.
